Extra Languges (as per Windows 8) -- any ideas

Hi there
Windows 8 (and earlier versions) had Language Interface packs available for many more languages than the standard 36 supplied on the Language pack DVD.

As Windows 8.1 is being rolled out to the public now - does anybody have any idea when these ones will be released - control panel links but says Language pack not available.


Seems strange that the Windows 8 versions WON'T work either -- for some people this could delay a take up of W8.1.

I have over 50 additional languages listed as available in my 8.1 preview. So, are you saying that the option to add a language is going to be removed and/or it just doesn't work because I have not actually tried to add one. Also, could this possibly be a carryover restriction for someone with a Win 8 single language pack installation that has upgraded to Win 8.1? Please tell us more.

The thread has been up before. Jimbo is referring to the LIPs, not the language packs. I am having the same complaint as I live in a dual language contry.
