"store" opening every 5 seconds

I have been using a new computer with Windows 8 for 3 or 4 days only. Until today things were ok.

Today, for some reason, every tiny movement of my fingers on the touch pad of my computer seems to open the windows store. I know the hot key combination to go back to my desktop but I can't have the store opening like this when I don't want it to. I have tried going to task manager and clicking on end task but it just opens right back up again a few seconds later. Can anyone help?

First off, I am not an apps guy so my suggestion probably won't be worth much; however, since I am not an apps person, I have "turned my live tile off" and I am never bothered by the store. Now, I do understand that this is probably not a permanent solution but it might be worth a try just to see if that stops the store from bugging you. Good luck.

Thanks - can you tell me how to do that? Store doesn't seem to appear as an app when I get my start screen and I can't seem to pull up any commands list when I'm in the app.

Hmm... Ok, I'll give it a shot. So, when you are on your Start Screen, right-click anywhere and that should bring up a bar at the bottom with an "all apps" icon. Now click that icon and it should display all available apps. Once displayed, find the store app and right-click that (see screenshots) and then select "pin to start at the bottom." You store app should now be available from the Start Screen and you can then "turn the live tile off" as described in my first post:

Thanks! That seems to have worked - although I'll wait a day or so before marking this as solved - sometimes problems hide for a while and then come back! Really appreciate you taking the time to write out instructions and post screen shots though!
