Solved 8.1 RT doesn't shut down properly
I've done a fresh install of 8.1 RT and all appears to be well except if I shut down.
If I select restart it restarts fine.
However if I select Shutdown, I get the woindows shreen telling me it's shutting down, then the monitor goes blank, but the PC is going indefinitely (I've given it 15 mins)
If I press the reset button on the PC case it reboots into windows without any "windows didn't shut down" type messages during bootup.
However if I check the event log, it does say
-----------------------
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Sorry I meant RTM as in the latest build that technet people got.
I've finally solved it after hours of trial and error.
I own a piece of software called Audials 10. That is what's causing the problem, I have posted on their support forum but have it uninstalled for now.
thanks
