Hello everyone, I am running Windows 8 on my Macbook Pro Retina 15 inch laptop via Bootcamp, I bought Windows 8 normal version from their website, and downloaded it to my computer, then installed it, activated it after installation, customized and set my computer as i feel comfortable, and suddenly, after a period of a week of usage, a watermark has appeared on the right bottom corner wriitten ''Windows 8'' and nothing more. I searched on internet and the solution was about activating, but my windows is activated as you can see on the picture, then there were some tools which were doing such things with a software but mine is a legit version so i didnt want to use such tool, by any chance do you know what may be causing this? thank you very much in advance,

Garo

If you install Yamicsoft's Windows 8 Manager you can shut that off. You can install it as a Trial, set the option to disable the watermark, then uninstall it. It's in the "Customize" menu under "Desktop".

I'm sure there is another way to disable that, but I use that software, and there are other things in there that help my system run better.

Download this "My_WCP_Watermark_Editor" and run (very simple). . .good luck. (not sure what is causing your problem, but would guess you have a bad serial key.

Apparently it was the Upgrade version, which I understood after buying it and installed it, even tho it wasnt mentioned in their website when i bought it, there was also the student version for upgrade with a discount price so i made sure to buy the other one to avoid buying the Upgrade version , but apparently i ended up with it...

None of the solutions helped me, isnt there a way to upgrade my version to a non-upgrade windows by paying a difference..etc? Guess i will have to get used to use it with the watermark.. :S

The Watermark has always been there, in every version of Windows 7 and 8 I have ever installed. I actually like to leave it there.

Just use Windows Manager and set it up like so:

watermark.png

The Watermark will vanish, guaranteed.

"The Watermark has always been there, in every version of Windows 7 and 8"

That's odd. I don't recall seeing it on Windows 8, which I do not have currently installed. Certainly not on Windows 8.1 rtm, which I am looking at now.??

Use several different computers during a day, so specs are irrelevant.
I've never seen it in any RTM edition. Only in prereleases.

The only way I've been able to hide it is with that program. But I installed the latest version of 8.1 on Parallels, and it's there in that as well. It's been there in every version of 7 and 8 I've installed, and maybe on Vista as well. But I always set the program to SHOW it. Maybe it is not there until I do that, but it has been there regardless.

the funny thing for me is that when I installed Windows MAnager, on that window that was posted, the watermark option is already unchecked :) so I wanted to try my luck and check and uncheck it, then reset the wallpaper after a reboot..etc but no luck, I guess I will need to learn to live with it, anyways it isnt a big deal, just a small writing, could be better if i could get rid of it, but if i cant, it's ok, I'm not going to make a big deal out of it, I was just curious if there was a way but apparently the suggested ways dont work on my computer. :) but I appreciate your help realy, thank you very much all

Maybe these guys are right, and my versions of all of these OSes were somehow different, and maybe yours is too. My Windows 8 says 9200, is that what yours says? If it is a lesser number then you have some kind of Beta maybe.

Try checking it, then hit Apply, your Desktop will reboot. Then open it again and hit "Hide" - Apply again and the desktop will reboot again. See if that does the trick. Sometimes you have to fiddle with it.

My Bad, looks like you did try that. Maybe try hitting it, and when it prompts you to reset the desktop hit NO, then reboot and see if it works that way. I've had to do that on a few systems.
