When does Windows 8 mantenance run

It's scheduled for 3AM, but the computer is powered down then. Does it run the next time it's powered up and idle?

Yes , if it misses the scheduled slot it'll wait till the PC is powered on and idle and do it then.

Mines set for 6am and it runs generally between 6:30 and 7:30 when I'm busy doing something else non-PC related.

Thanks. I was wondering because I saw a checked "important" update sitting there, and the update check had already been processed. The new update must have come in afterwards. I didn't install in manually to see what would happen, and I see it was installed this morning.
