Hi, I have an acer E1-531-4694 laptop and it will no longer start up, when I press power, it goes to acer's startup screen :

"acer
explore beyond limits"

"your pc ran into a problem and need to restart. we're just collecting some error info, and than we'll restart for you ( 0%)"

"Preparing Automatic Repair.."

than the screen just turns black..

it will just restart the same thing

I tried booting into safe mode but nothing happens.

is there anyway to fix this ?

How did you try to boot into safe mode ?

EDIT-- If you don't respond you won't get much help.

If you have a Windows 8 Install disk, you need to boot to that and get into Command Prompt. You can run a CHKDSK from there, cos it sounds like disk errors. You can find Windows 8 install disks in a google search if you don't have one, and for a CHKDSK you don't even need the exact version of 8, because you just need the command prompt.

The other thing you can do, is download Hiren's Boot CD from my link below, burn it and boot to it. Get into "Mini-XP" and you can run the CHKDSK from there. There are also other Disk Scanning tools on the disk, under "Dos Programs".

Usually when 8 starts doing this, it may mean there is a read error on the hard drive, so I always start from there. in about 90% of cases like this, the hard drive had Read Element Failure which is caused by Windows 8 being powered off ungracefully, and I was able to repair it using CHKDSK and one of the Disk Scanning tools on Hiren's
