Computer Specifications:
Windows 8 x64
2.40 GHz Intel Quad Core Processor (i7 if it makes a difference)
8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM
1GB AMD Radeon HD 8700M

Just recently bought this laptop has worked relatively fine until just tonight. I was watching a movie on Netflix and all of a sudden the browser in (already loaded page) was running slowly, so I opened up the Windows Task Manager to see what was going on. Turns out my laptop is using roughly between 75% to 80% of RAM just sitting with an already open page. No programs in the background (other than google chrome).

Things I have already tried:
-Looking for extremely resource intensive programs (in Task Manager and Resource Manager)
-Restarting computer (before restart 4.6 GB in use, after ~6.5)
-Running quick scan with Windows Defender(Microsoft Security Essentials)
-Currently running Emsisoft Emergency Kit(will update after I get results)

Some help would be great. Thanks in advance.

For anyone that this happens to I figured it out. Somehow my system page file had gotten to about 5 GB in size all you have to do is tell your computer to delete it on shutdown by:

1.Hitting Windows key+r
2.type in regedit and then hit enter
3.go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management in the editor
4.double click on ClearPageFileAtShutDown and change the value to 1
5.restart computer
