windows 8 updates to pro with media center for no reason

hi

I've just brought a new pc with windows 8 core preinstalled as with all new pc's it has to do all its updates but for some reason on one of them it restarted and booted up in windows 8 pro with media center.I really do not want this and would like to return to windows 8 core without having to copy off all my files or purchasing a new copy of windows 8 as I have just spent a lot of money on this new pc. Any help will be greatly received as I would really like to get it back to normal asap.

never heard of this before ,i have pro but had to do a upgrade to get it ,and had to go to Microsoft to get the free windows media center, before they started charging for it .you should check with the company you bought it from to see why it did this ,as its not normal


just an opinion ,Pro is,much the same but better ,if you don't want Media center just uninstall it ,in control panel ,go to programs and features and on the left open turn off windows features and its there under media features
