Is there any way to get rid of the 8.1 watermark?

So I was having some problems before but I reinstalled Win 8, made sure it's activated, and everything seems to be working well. I upgraded again to Win 8.1, and the pesky watermark is back.

It's not a huge deal, but is there a way to get rid of it? If not, will it go away by the time the official update is released? Thanks!

it will go away when the full update come out ,{you should have letf it off after the reinstall of win8].i believe because you will have to do a win8 refresh [loosing all 3rd party apps in the process .]to get rid of the beta win8.1 before install the full update win8.1

Mark your calendars for Windows 8.1!

I don't believe that the watermark can be removed from the trial version but it will not be present in the full version of 8.1 when it is released. It is there to make it clear that this is a trial version. This is to prevent a company from installing it on a computer and selling it as if it had the full version of Windows 8. This kind of thing has happened in the past.

yeah, i think it will have to be removed [by way of a win8 refresh, and you will loose all 3rd party apps and a lot more] anyway before you can install the update in October ,thats why i install 8.1 preview on separate partition on my harddrive .leaving my original win8 install untouched

Yes. Google the following program to remove the watermark; My WCP Watermark Editor. This one works just fine.

Hi bozman007

See here

that'sweird ,the one with the watermark looks darker to me ,

the bottom line is the 8.1 preview has to be removed ,before the win 8.1 update can be installed ,so the watermark will be gone anyway

The point of the post is that the OP would like to remove the watermark now and not in two to three months when the final comes out. As I posted earlier there is a way to remove it. As the OP I had no desire to look at the darn watermark for the next several months, hence I went looking, and guess what I found. . .
