My name is Jane and I am on a Windows 8 X 64 system and all has been great for a while. About 3 days ago I started having the computer freeze up suddenly. At first it would recover after a short time but finally it totally crashed the system, requiring a reboot to get going again. It seems to happen a lot when i right click on something, but has also happened when the system was not active once, today. I was reading some web instructions and suddenly my screen went black and I got a message saying there was no video signal. The progress I have seen with this was at first just freezing for a few seconds, then for a longer time. Then it stopped recovering at all and the screen would black out and I would get the no signal message. Now my user account is totally trashed. If I try to log in to it I get a black screen, the no signal message and have to reboot to get my video back. I am using the Admin account to send this and it seems to be ok, but I did have one crash from this account earlier too.
At first I thought it was something in Chrome so I uninstalled it and reinstalled because the crashes seem to always come when I was using Chrome. I do not think that fixed it, though because it has crashed since then. I looked around in safe mode, but I really have no idea of what I am looking for. Any thoughts, suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.
