I took ownership of C:/ as an administrator. I was not suppose to.

I tried following the step given but cannot do some of the steps because I don't have it.
How do I give permissions back to TrustedInstaller, when I changed ownership, I don't have TrustedInstaller in the list of possible owners anymore in C drive
My Windows 8 don't have some the steps mentioned

The following are the steps I follow:
1 . Go to the folder which contains the file or folder for which you want to restore ownership to "TrustedInstaller". Right-click on the file or folder and select Properties.
I right click on os (c ) and selected properties
2. It'll open its Properties window. Now go to "Security" tab and click on Advanced button
I clicked on security
object name c:\ ( the tutorial has shell32.dll properties windows mine is blank)
3 . It'll open a new window. Now go to "Owner" tab and you'll see that the owner would be set to your username and "TrustedInstaller" would not be present in the list as we mentioned above.
I don't have this
object name: c:\windows\ system32\ shell32.dll I don't have this
4. It'll open another window. Click on "Other users or groups" button.
5. Now type NT SERVICE\TrustedInstaller in "Enter the object name to select" text box and click on OK button as shown in following screenshot:
NT SERVICE\TrustedInstaller

Systems: windows 8

C:\
properties > security
object name: c:\
Group or user name
I don't have TrustedInstaller listed

> Advanced
Advanced security setting os(c:)
name c:\
Owner me change

step 3: advanced security setting is different than tutorial. I don't have "owner" to click on

When I click on "change" in owner
select user or group windows popup
object name : NT SERVICE\TrustedInstaller
When I click on check name I got the following message
named not found

When I did the following properties> security> edit > add
object: NT SERVICE\TrustedInstaller
click ok, I got the following message from window security
I click yes I got the follwing message: error applying security
an error occur while applying security information to
c:\bootmgr
failed to enumerate object in the container access denied
