Linux usually won't allow you to see the contents of an NTFS partition.
It's created during refresh.Before I reset windows 8, I had no windows.old folder.
It does, and I suggest starting at page 61 of the mobile manual. My computer does not have a manual at all.

Just to clarify, I bought my laptop as a demonstrator model and It only came with a power cord and the thing itself. I do not have any recovery disks.
Okay I am familiar of when I had a recovery partition back when windows 7 was installed but when I had windows 8 I don't really remember having one. Is there any way to access it?

Should be able to access it by booting into BIOS, if you can.
Alright I tried to get to the windows recovery menu but it didn't show up on the boot manager. I guess I will have to download the windows 7 cd then.
