If you disable Metro, you are pretty much on the 7989 build.

That one was not a public release.

WHS, don't worry, stranger things have happened. E.g. right now I'm using the RPenabled method to disable metro but keep the ribbon and TM via a couple of scripts. For some time after logon, the confidential blah..blah.. remains on my desktop, after that it magically disappears without any intervention on my part. Since this is a pre-pre- thing, haven't bothered to probe.

Yeah, all I have now is this ...

Dunno ... just happened tonight.

Thanks, Bill, I have modified my Start Screen pic and the colors of my tiles.

Interestingly enough, however, I did that a number of days ago but tonight was the first time I saw the message changed.

I haven't noticed anything bad, yet.

You are truly a font of knowledge, Bill, and I thank you for all of your guidance, sincerely.

The only thing I did in the interim was to place the Task Manager on my Start screen and, as I did so, I searched for "TM.exe" and came up with a bunch of choices and foolishly clicked away. Some of them came up with only a blank Task Manager window ... odd.

I figured out the right one, finally. I wonder if that had something to do with it.

Yeah, right. After I reenabled Metro and rebooted, the message disappeared. Thanks everybody for enlightening me.

It's a bit weird though... with all this user-centric development, I'm surprised we're seeing messages against the modification of the system. Wouldn't it be a good thing?
