Hi all, Could anyone help, I am trying to add photographs to my pc and make files for different sets of pictures but the photos app that is bundled with windows 8 is not very helpful. It wont let me make separate files and when I want to print from this app I cant. I have looked at other available apps in the store but they all appear to be the same with poor write ups.
also when I import pictures into pc it makes two copies so if I upload 20 pictures it copies 40 and then I have to delete half of them, this is really starting to irritate me now, I am trying to start photography as a bit of a hobby but I am finding windows 8 not very user friendly at the moment.
I am hoping there is someone with a few pointers Thanks, Terry.

I have uninstalled the photo app and the camera app for similar reasons. At this point I'm not 100% sure about what you are trying to accomplish but I can tell you that your camera will still be detected (via USB) and you will still have access to the pictures you want to save to your computer (and they won't be in duplicates from my experience). Now, as far as the photos go, you will still be able to view them via the built-in Windows Photo Viewer and if you want to crop, resize, etc., I would recommend Photofiltre Free Edition which is available as a portable version as well. Good luck.

If you are transferring images over? I use "Preview" to do that, I usually use Paint to do minor edits on them. If you install Office 2007 to 2013, it will install a MS Office Picture Manager which works pretty well too. Another good app is Picasa for managing images. For big edits I still use Photoshop 7.
