Solved Search from Start Screen

I am searching for a document from the Start Screen, then I click files to see the list of docs. When I click on a doc to open it, it goes into desktop mode to view the Word doc. After viewing the file, how do I get back to the list of search results? It seems like I have to recreate the search everytime after viewing a file. Thanks

You have to recreate the search everytime after viewing a file. If you don't want to, search from a desktop explorer window.

Hello Vincenzo,

You might want to start your search from within explorer. That way, the results will remain in the background. My example shows a search of the Library Folders for *.jpg images:

If I wanna find something, I go to my networked XP machine and search the mapped Windows 8 drive with THAT.

Recently lost my Windows 8 on my main PC, had to go back to Windows 7.
OK back to Explorer it is. Searching all Libraries is a good idea I had not thought of. Thanks

It took a while but I got my Windows 8 Explorer to to finally respond to searches a little better, you have to add the whole C drive to the indexer. Otherwise, the Search only returns results from certain areas.
