Files are changing their locations, help!

Greetings Win 8 users. I am having a strange problem where I move files (user files, documents, etc) to subfolders and a little while later they are back in their prior location. I rebooted the computer and it is still doing this.

Sometimes the file will appear in the parent and child directory. If I delete it from the parent directory, it vanishes from the child directory as well. I have to rescue it from the trash. I drag it from the trash to the desired child directory and shortly after that, it is visible in the parent directory and child.

I can't manage files this way. I simply want to organize files but their location changes on its own. Any ideas?

Are you talking about files in default windows locations ? User files are normally in one place on the HDD but you can see and use then
m form USERS folder and also from Documents and Settings folder.

Documents and settings has been a non- accessible "junction" folder since Vista. I doubt the poster, without altering the security settings, will be able to access it normally. It is only there for backward compatibility.

Could you give a little amplification on, for example, which file, or an example of, you are trying to move, and to which subfolders?
