I have a new laptop with and therefore learning win8. my concern today is in the taskbar I have the touch keyboard always on my taskbar and the English keyboard settings. I go into taskbar properties, and I have tried every conceivable option I can think of to stop this unlock toolbar, apply , save, uncheck settings apply, save, lock toolbar apply, save. etc from my reg acct as well as from within admin acct. But still after every reboot, they appear back again. Argh what am I missing ?

Thanks

Ken

Thank you for the idea, checked and is listed as stopped and with a manual trigger, but stopped. What is manual trigger, am I triggering it ?

Thanks Ken

Remove it from the toolbar (as done previously). Disable the service completely. Reboot and see what happens.

Thanks again for your advise, sorry for the delay getting back, have been busy with that dam work thing last few days. I cannot find a to way disable or remove the service. The only option i had available was to start. Tried starting the service to see if I could then shut down, but just changed to automatic trigger and was unable to affect any other changes including going back to manual trigger. Appears that thru reboots has reverted back to manual trigger see I am wondering is it related to the synaptics touch pad or is a synced desktop causing the issue, I thought I had removed the synced desktop in control panel, personalization and is not listed anymore. Any other thoughts ?
