Hello people. When i started a video on vlc, windows media player (classic to), etc, i watch the video normally for about 6 minutes and then everything become slow even the windows system. So i exit the video and in about 30 seconds everything turns to normal. Anyone can help me with this problem? Thanks in advance.

I have a samsung 550p5c-s03PT and my specs are:

OS:Windows 8 64-bits
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3630QM Quad Core 2.4
RAM: 8 GB DDR3-1600
Graphics card:
NVIDIA® GeForce™ GT 650M (2GB DDR3) and Intel® HD Graphics 4000

P.S: The laptop is brand new and i have already installed the latest Nvidia Drivers

EDIT: The same thing happen on google chrome on youtube videos when they are fullscreen..when i put them in "window mode" again they return to normal speed.

Some are complaining about heat-related issues and others are complaining about CPU throttling. I would contact Samsung support regarding this issue. Good luck.

That would take a decade or two lol. I fixed the problem.
Basically my issue was related to Nvidia Optimus, i was using the integrated graphics card to play videos by default on vlc so i had to switch to the Nvidia GT650M when i was using vlc (just had to go to the nvidia painel control and change the gpu for vlc) and put the vlc output in Direct3D. So now this laptop is almost perfect xD. The only drawback is the heating problem..still i think i made some progress on that...at least i can play skyrim with 60-70º in high settings xD. Thanks for the help ^^

Check your playback Speed setting in VLC - You can get to this by right clicking on the media, choose "Playback" and go to "Speed"

If you are running VLC in Skinned mode, this can be gotten to by Arrows on either side of the time slider. The arrow on the left slows it down, on the right, speeds it up. But it does not show like that in regular mode.
