IS there an Fn key that shows you remaining battery? I have an Old Dell Inspiron 9100 laptop where the Battery icon would simply vanish.

With Laptops, there is something like Dell Quickset which assigns some On Screen Graphics to the Fn Keys, so you can see what you are doing, like Volume Level, Remaining Battery, Brightness, etc.

Acer should have a similar program- It usually replaces the "Mobility Center" - See if you can get the Mobility Center to show up as a taskbar tray icon. If your battery keeps on vanishing, maybe you can re-install the Acer version of Quickset, is there a folder on the main hard drive with the Drivers and Utilities stored? If not, you should be able to download the Utility from the Acer website that has the drivers and utilities for your laptop.
