Windows 8.1 Black Screen Problem

Good evening Eight-Forums.
I Have the Gateway M-7356u that used to run Windows 8 Pro. When the 8.1 Preview became available, I decided to download the update from Microsoft. When that didn't work, I decided to download and Burn the ISO and upgrade with that. After install, however, I log in to be greeted with a Black Screen, only able to open the task Manager via Ctrl+ALT+DEL. If anyone knows the solution, please give me the answer.

It's an Activation problem. however you activated it, it failed. You should be able to run SLMGR.VBS from a Command Prompt using Task Manager, from there you can re-activate it. You may have to contact MS to get a new Key. I don't know how this preview activates, if it uses the same Activation that 8 uses, then it's the same problem as 8 has.
