Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I can't find the place on the Store to download 8.1. I've done a search several times, but I just don't see it.

Hello Frank,

Scroll down a bit to OPTION ONE in the tutorial that Horace posted above. It'll help show you the steps to take to upgrade to Windows 8.1 Preview from the Store. :)

Hey Jon,

It wouldn't hurt to give it a try with the Store if you like.

If not, at least you got the ISO already to use instead. :)

I noticed the Preview has an installer, this is what adds it to the store, or does it apply the upgrade like a service puke pack?

Jon,

Going the Store route, you download and install the KB file from the link at Microsoft that then makes the Windows 8.1 Preview update available through the Store (like when updating apps) after the restart.

Ah - Maybe I will try it that way, I've never installed an upgrade like that before. Is this like a "Windows Anytime Upgrade"?

Nar, it's almost like using the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant, but only though the Store app updates instead.

I was downloading from the Store and everything was goinggreat for awhile. Since it was taking some time, I got out my Android tabletand was listening to some good ol' music by Tammy Wynett and George Jones andreally enjoying it. Then all of a sudden after it downloaded about 50% I got anerror code 0xc1900106. Has anyone run into that? By the way, I did finishlistening to my recording. It was great :)

Frank,

That's normal right now since Microsoft's servers are overloaded. You should be able to right click on the error for more details, and click on "Try again" to see if it may continue.
