Solved Strange slider control
I suddenly noticed that I had a slider control in the top left hand corner of my desktop. It showed 0 to 90. It would slide up to 90 with my mouse, but immediately drop to 0 when I released it. Right click showed no results. It disappeared after a re-boot. Any ideas please

Hello new,
This sounds like it may be your volume level indicator like below after pressing the volume button on your keyboard. You can also adjust the volume level by clicking on the volume icon in the notification area (right side) on the taskbar from your desktop.
Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks Brink, it certainly looked like your attachment picture, although it showed 0 and didn't work. However I don't have a volume button on my keyboard. Still from what you said it doesn't look like anything I need worry about too much.

As long as you can adjust your volume from the usual volume icon in the notification area, then yeah you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I have found what caused this it was my Microsoft headset which has a volume control on it that I don't usually use, but must have pressed it. Thanks Brink
