Hello all, I'm in need of some help concerning my laptop that uses W8. Earlier this week I was logging into my admin profile (the only profile on the computer) and it was taking a long time to sign in. Assuming it was locking up, or something, I turned it off by the power button to restart it. It came back on normally, but my usual background screen color was blue instead of green (for what it's worth lol). When I entered my password, I waited for it to load, and when it finally did, the tile start menu with the apps, etc. only had the classic desktop button, along with help and support. After the screen loads, it turns off and loads with a blank blue background, then after a few moments the menu returns, for only a short span, before it loads again. It does this constantly, and I'm unable to even bring up the classic desktop. The stranger thing is that when I open the task menu, the screen is fine, and I can log off, turn on sleep, etc.
I think a system restore, or reset can fix the problem, but since I cannot get to my search bar, or desktop, I can't follow the steps to perform either one. From what I've read, I won't even be able to start it in safe mode because of the problem, and as a result, I'm at a loss at what to do lol.
If anyone has some advice or tips on how to resolve this, I'd really appreciate it! By the way, I've tried the shift + f8 - it does nothing for me
