How to Access Easy Transfer on Windows 8

Still getting accustomed to wind 8. Want to transfer files from computer with Vista O/S to Laptop with Windows 8. According to some instructions, I should be able to do this with Easy Transfer so I need to know, how do I access Easy Transfer on the laptop.?

Just type migwiz on the start screen.

I wouldn't trust using some wizard to decide where my files and important data resided. All you need is an external drive or a flash drive. Copy what you need from the old machine to the drive, then over to the new computer. No one and no software is going to know what's important to you they way you would know.

Sorry to say that I never followed thru with the project since after thinking more about it, I didn't have that many files worthy of transferring, so I didn't bother., I found that over time, and downloading information as I went along, the same information eventually showed up on my laptop. Later too, I found that I then had the same information in places, so I just left it there, twice.
