ok, I moved this forum from the old computer to this new one by sending the link from the top of the screen by email. my idea was to put it in my favorites list, I can't seem to figure it out. when I click on the link it opens the internet
and goes right to this, but fills up the whole screen and I can't find my favorites link. any ideas? I don't need to lose
this web site.

Are you saying your Favorites tab is missing in Internet Explorer?

If so, press your Alt key once. Then press View , Toolbars and place check in front of Menu.

You can also add links by holding Ctrl key down and pressing the D key once.

I hope that helps and if not add more details.

Are you using the Desktop version of Internet Explorer, or the version that appears on the Start Screen?

The Desktop version is probably easier to use and pcRat's instructions work there. I'd recommend starting IE from the desktop if you aren't already.

In the Start Screen version it's less obvious how to see Favourites. I think you have to blank out the website address in the address box, and then it will show up the Favourites in a series of icons above the address. There may be a slicker way but I haven't found it yet.

The best I've ever figured out is adding a metro site to Favorites happens on desktop IE.
So the quickest way is Ctrl+D which will give you option of 'Pin to start' or 'Add to Favorites'

You can view your Favorites in Metro by
  1. clicking on the address bar
  2. hover mouse over any Frequent icon
  3. scroll right which will take you out of Frequent and into your Favorites icons

Not necessary to blank out website address but click once to incite Pinned, Frequent & Favorites icons.

More than less, I use Desktop IE10 for regular internet usage because it allows me to use multiple programs at same time.

I use Metro IE10 for security like banking, online ordering, bill payment.
Then back to Desktop IE
