Is there a way to toggle between the same program?

I remember when I was using Windows 7 I accidentally found a short key that toggles between the same program e.g. between different windows of a single browser, but forgot what this combination was.

I know on Mac you can do this by CMD+` I believe.

Hold the Win key and press the numeric key that corresponds to the program position in the taskbar (counted from the left). E.g. you have File Explorer at position #1, press Win+1, hold Win and keep pressing 1 to switch.

Thank you for reminding me of that. I thought there was another way though that toggled to the next window without having to choose it from the list of windows you have open? Or is that just in my imagination.

(win) + # will select the item in your system tray



in this case

(win +1) would bring up internet explorer

(win + 2) would open recent folder

(win + 3) would open chrome etc....

(ctrl) (tab) will move you up then down the your internet tab windows..

Maybe you mean more than one instance of the browser/etc? You can select multi instances by selecting IE, or whatever, with the middle mouse key.

That just toggles between your latest used window with the current window, even if it is a different program; I want a shortkey that toggles between windows of the same program.

I don't know what you mean. I have two instances of Notepad open in the screenshot below. I can toggle between them
using Alt/Tab. The only other shortcut keys concerning pages that I know of would be in an Excel workbook. That would be Ctrl/Page Up or Down.

7 has 3D flip with WinKey/Tab. WinKey/Tab in 8 brings out the slide out menu of what's open at the left (which is the upper left hot corner with finger or mouse) to toggle between those apps or desktop if open. BTW, one can right click with mouse on one of those to close as shown below.
