    how to eliminate logging in with password

    I am the only user of my computer, therefore I cannot change my account to standard instead of administrator, and therefore, I am stuck with the log in screen every time I restart. I would like to disable the log in screen and maybe keep the lock screen, if possible.

    Is there a way around this?

    1. Win+X -> Run -> netplwiz
    2. In the Users tab, uncheck the box next to Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.
    3. Login as usual
    4. Next time when your PC starts up, Windows 8 will log on automatically

    Usually, when you change your Login from a Local account to a Microsoft/Skydrive account, it logs you in automatically.

    You have to get a Microsoft Account first, then you can log into Windows 8 with it, Skydrive integrates right into your user account"

    When I did this, it asked me if I wanted to use my Skydrive account to log in, which I had already set up, but if you try to do it with a new account, it redirects you to Microsoft Account creation, then back to Skydrive after you validate your MS account, which can be done with a txt to your phone usually.

    For post #3, after unchecking the box, you will be required, in the next window, to insert you password (twice), before exiting.

    XweAponX. I have never used the path you suggest, but, are you certain you will then be logged in automatically, without having to put in a password? I have never experienced that, even with Windows 7?
