Hi.

I just got windows 8 and so far i like it :thumb:.... I do however dislike that there was no start menu.....

Ive since downloaded classic shell which has fixed that problem..... I still have few little things i cant work out and would like some help pls....

(1) Why do I have to sign in with a microsoft account to use the calender ? I share this computer with my girl friend and once i sign in to use the calender, wont she be able to get into my mail also ?

(2) I downloaded this really nice App called " Backgrounds Wallpapers HD"
Backgrounds Wallpapers HD app for Windows in the Windows Store

I downloaded a really nice pic to use as my lock screen. My mate now wants the same pic but i cant see to find it anymore from that site..... None of the pics at that site seem to have any names ? How are you meant to search for something ?
I still have the pic as my lock screen but have no idea where it is stored in windows 8...how would i find it. it has to be somewhere ?

(3) On my previous computer i had vista.... I was able to open mulitple I.E windows just by clicking on the I.E icon in the quick launch bar.....I really like to be able to do this....
Vista_I.E Multiple Windows.JPG

in windows 8 when i click on I.E icon more than once it just open up a new tab and not a new window....how do i open up mulitiple windows ?

Hope someone can clear up these small issues for me ?

I have no idea why they won’t let you use the calendar without a Microsoft Account. Although, you can have separate user accounts for you and your girlfriend. For more info on setting up separate User Accounts, please see the following tutorial:

I’m not familiar with that app, however if it’s possible to take a screenshot of the image, you could take a screenshot, then upload it to Google Image Search using their reverse image search feature.

To use the Quick Launch toolbar, please see the following tutorial:

To turn off Tabbed Browsing, please see the following tutorial. You can also open new IE windows by pressing CTRL & N, or clicking the icon in the Quick Launch Toolbar. If you have tabbed browsing turned off, then you can CTRL & Click the link you want to open in a new window.

I really could be wrong again but I think since you downloaded from the store, no file was saved after you changed your wallpaper.

You could go to same location High Definition Wallpapers - HD wallpapers from the desktop to download & save wallpapers. They will be saved to the default download folder C:\Users\your account name\Downloads
to save to different folder click the arrow beside the Save button and choose Save as

If you want that picture for your wife's screen — h
ide your task bar & be sure your wallpaper is set to Fill.
Hold your Winkey down and press Prnt Scrn once.
Go to Libraries\Pictures\Screenshots and it will be there for you to place in Public pictures or email her.

I hope something works for you.
Good Luck

Sorry about taking so long to comprehend you were talking about Lock screen and not desktop wallpaper.
That's not the 1st time I was wrong today.

Anyway, if you go the site, you should be able to find it again (may take awhile...may be not)
