i need help please :(

my laptop has been with me for 3weeks and the problem happened after i installed the latest driver of nvidia the 320.14 version. it asked me to restart the pc so i did. then after i logged back in i got this black screen for about 3 to 5 seconds then it brought me back to the log in screen. ive been logging in to my laptop for some time now and i still cant get passed that log in screen after the black screen. i tried restarting and shutting it down for 15mins but its still the same. help me please

my laptop is the msi gt60 with the gtx 680

Hello Marco, and welcome to Eight Forums.

You could do a system restore at boot using a restore point dated before you installed the driver to undo it and hopefully fix this issue for you.

Try hitting shift+restart and doing a restore/reset. Worked for me, andI had the exact same problem

ok i tried restoring but now after i logged in everything seems ok but when i go the desktop or wait for about 15secs after logging in the black screen shows up again and brings me back to the log in screen sometimes it doesnt and im stuck with the black screen and a cursor

Try to boot up on safe mode. It will not make use of your Nvidia display driver and you should be able to do a system restore without a problem.

Just a comment, 320.14 is a beta version of the Nvidia driver not a final release.

Yes - This is why I held off, nVidia Betas can sometimes cause problems - Someone needs to report this to nVidia, they'll want to know. It's why they have Betas. Is there a link on the nVidia site to report problems with Betas?
