Are you talking about the temperatures of your hardware inside the pc? If so, then I not sure about DOS, but there are some great 3rd party software that will give you your temps. HWMonitor and speedfan are good ones.

Your System Bios should tell you, but you want one while you are in DOS?. I don't know of any that run in Dos, I use AIDA64. They all have some kind of GUI, but I suppose a command line version can just pull up the data. I don't know of any Dos-Only software that can read the sensors, because drivers have to be loaded in order to show the temps.

I did find this for Linux:

Linux Read CPU Temperature Sensor Chip Data

I looked around that one day, I'll keep looking. It seems someone should have made a command line for this - And there may be a simple DOS program that does this on the Hiren's Boot CD disk. Have you checked that? I know there are several DOS programs on there that can read the sensors, and pull up System Info.

Seems like someone running a server could use this too, are you running a server?

Here is a list of the Dos tools on the disk: There should be something in there, that maybe you can extract out and use it on your desktop.

Oh! It's Dr Hardware - I used to use this... Yah, well it is ASCII graphics, but should work for command line... Nope! It needs Full Screen mode, and Windows 8 does not allow it. Well I am sure there are others that will work in windowed mode.

OK I found this - Which MAY do what you want. It's a built in Wiondows command called WMIC - So you can check various parts of your system by typing, in a command window, x:\wmic (command)

Read the info on this page

Retrieving System Information via Command Line on Windows | Acidx's Blog

I tried this, but it said "No Instances Available"

wmic temperature get nominalreading

So there is something you need to do before you can retrieve the sensor data. Just type x:\wmic /? to get all of the commands and switches.

Ok, I just checked this out, you just type "wmic" in a command window then type the switches you want, it's complicated, it has nested commands. You have to do something to get it to spit out Temperature, not sure what. You canm also ask the guy who made the Blog - I'll do that for you right now.

Wouldn't it be a lot faster and easier if you just install an app and just double-click it? Google up SpeedFan.

SpeedFan is a program that monitors voltages, fan speeds and temperatures in computers with hardware monitor chips. SpeedFan can even access S.M.A.R.T. info and show hard disk temperatures. SpeedFan supports SCSI disks too. SpeedFan can even change the FSB on some hardware (but this should be considered a bonus feature). SpeedFan can access digital temperature sensors and can change fan speeds accordingly, thus reducing noise.

HI thank you for your interaction with my post.

Suppose i have no GUI on my PC,i want to obtain that data remotely i want to hold that data in a script and sending them to another machine.

So there is no a chance for an application with GUI .it MUST have command-line version .

or if can you give me any suggestion to accomplish that i have no problem i will immediately do it .

thank you *__*

Yes, but all of these monitoring apps have the ability to create a LOG - And you CAN retrieve a Log.

If you are connecting remotely, how are you interfacing, through a hand Held Device? You can even use Teamviewer on a Device or Tablet, even a Windows 8 Tablet, cos there is a Metro Tile for it now. You don't even have to log in, just use the File Transfer to move the current log into whatever you are using.

The Closest thing I found was that WMI command, but it will not read your sensors, not without a whole lot of manipulating. I'll go check and see if the guy responded to my question about a Temperature command.

The only other thing you can do, is install one of these Sensor apps, I use AIDA64. You can tell it to make a report once a day at a certain time, you can choose TXT version or HTML versions. Then you simply retrieve the log on a daily basis.

OK I read his reply, and he could not get it working either, and he knows more than I do. I told him your exact needs, and I asked him if he knew of any way to do it, any command line script, look we KNOW that the sensor logs are available, just not to the bare system. So we need some kind of Program to poll the sensors and spit out a result, Most of those old Dr Hardware programs are for Dos, but most important they have no programming that can poll sensors, because back in the days when those were made, many systems did not even have temperature sensors. Check back at that link later, and see if he posts my response and responds to it, maybe he'll know what you can use.

Ok, here is one thing you can do, the company that makes CPU-Z makes a program called PC Wizard. You keep it running on the server. You can poll the server to create a printout of the Hardware Temps - You leave the program monitoring the temps, so you would have to find the print command, you could activate that remotely, and send the printout to your device or remote computer.

I'll keep looking around, I know there is something that does this, I could swear I've seen it at one time. Maybe we can design a script that can use any of these graphical programs, to spit out a txt report and send it. I checked AIDA64, there is no way to tell it to make a report on a schedule, unless there is a report command that is separate from the whole program. That's what we need, to find the actual "report" or "print" command and run THAT remotely.
