I have noticed that several of my streaming apps.. such as Pandora, Slacker, Radyo .. start to accumulate large chunks of space within the W8 Metro side of things.
In one instance, Radyo ( which I use for shoutcast streaming and do not actually record streams ), was up to 7.5 gb. I could find no way within that program.. or Slacker or Pandora either, to clear any data.
I used a program called Spacesniffer to locate the large chunks of data for Radyo and found it at the following location:
C:\Users\(name )\AppData\Local\Packages\25302cahitcercioglu.RADYO_ckta59gpxcwkt\AC
However, even when I navigated to that folder in explorer, I could not see the culprit files within that folder. Hidden items were checked to be visible, and properties did show that folder to be nearly 7.5GB. The only way I could delete those files, which were mainly .dat and jpegs, was to open that location within the Spacesniffer program. Then I could see the files, highlight and delete them.
I've sent my findings to the guys at Radyo to get their input.. as even since I've deleted those files which brought the program back down to around 30 mb.. it's already back up to 350 mb and growing after a day of streaming.
Since all aspects of my computer and windows metro / store are working fine, I'm puzzled by this excessive app storage space. I see where I can clear the ap store cache.. but I"m not sure if that would clear those files as well. And since my store is working fine.. I'm leary of clearing ap cache as that seems needed to be done only when you have trouble launching aps.. or updating them.
So.. anyone else care to chime in on what they're seeing?
Thanks!
