Where is the traditional Control Panel

Yesterday when I installed the Developer .iso I stepped on the traditional Control Panel ( like in 7 and Vista). Now I cannot find it any more. Please remind me where it is hiding.

Go to the desktop view and it will be on the desktop pop up menu on the right.

I get to it by Windows Key & R for the run box then use control.exe

Save yourself the revolting stuff - rename shsxs.dll. It's in windows\system32

log off and on or restart.

    BLISS.

We can only hope that's one tweak that will be a default option for desktop use.

Renaming shsxs.dll to old or something lets you get rid of the metro ui but it also disables the new task manager (also the old task manager takes forever to show up). It also slows desktop composition at start and should your wifi setup not be configured yet, it disables the wifi card.

Another option, is if you go to Control Panel in Metro, at the bottom is an option called "More Settings" if you click that it loads the classic 7 Control Panel

I put this on my desktop also. Works the same in W8.

The "All Tasks" is a good idea, I picked the ones I often use, made shortcuts and stuck then into a subfolder of my toolbar. That way they are easy to refer to.

Control Panel
Why is it that the last time I went to the control panel to uninstall a program it was no longer listed, And a lot of my programs weren't listed. Why is this ? it makes it impossible to uninstall most of my programs that I no longer want. I hate Windows 8.

Product key in control panel?
I was looking around in the control panel and I found the system section. It had a part in it that showed my product key. Is this my actual product key for reinstalling or is it an identifier? I do like it that I can find it on OEM PCs but I don't want people looking through my control panel for it.

Suddenly, when I try to access the control panel, all that happens is the control panel icon shows on the task bar but I can not open it. Nothing happens when I click on it. I've rebooted several times with no change.

Control Panel
I'm reading this book and it shows me what the control panel looks like in Windows 8 but I sure can't get to it. My control panel looks just like the one in Windows 7?
