Motherboard failure! Windows 8 Pro license transfer?

Can my Windows Pro license (non OEM) be transferred to my rebuilt computer that now has a different model motherboard and CPU? I tried booting up the newly rebuilt system with my system hard drive (two SSD's in RAID 0) as is but failed. It looks like I must do a clean install and then try to restore everything from my last backup.

You can transfer the Win8 license, if it's not OEM.

If it's an upgrade license, there might be some license agreement concerns, but you can still do it.

Are the RAID controllers the same on the old and new motherboards? I suppose that they are not, or Win8 would have been likelier to boot on the new board.

(I'll probably not use motherboard RAID again. I tried an Intel RAID 10 a few years ago, and got tired of the array re-verifying after every bluescreen. That took hours, even though the individual drives were only 500GB each.)

Thanks bobkn. I suspect the RAID controllers are different on the new MOBO. I am formatting the two SSD's now and will try a clean install.
