The following report was generated by HDDScan (ver 3.3): http://sdrv.ms/Y4KYpv (S.M.A.R.T result)
My laptop (Windows 8) encounters slow boot-up and shutdown time yesterday suddenly. The boot-up time was usually at around 23-28 seconds (fast start up) and the shutdown time was not more than 30 seconds/ 20 seconds (didn't pay much attention to this shutdown time) before yesterday but now the boot-up time is 2.5 or sometimes even 5 minutes & shutdown takes about 10-15 minutes. When I log into the windows, it will freeze on the start screen for about 2 minutes before I can click & view the desktop. When shutting down, the 'shutting down' phrase on the screen will disappear shortly (normal) but it leaves the black screen for about 10-15 minutes (as stated above) to completely shutdown the laptop (I know as the fan is still turning & there are some blinking lights).
I can provide the system event log if it is needed.
What happens to my hdd and how to solve it?
