Hi,

I have a rather weird problem since installing win 8. When the computer goes to sleep, my normal practice is to hit the esc key to wake it. Worked fine on win 7. Now, when the computer goes to sleep, I hit esc and the computer wakes up but only for about a second or two and then it goes back to sleep. I must wait until it goes to sleep completely (about 5-10 seconds) and after I hit esc again, it wakes up ok.

I have a gateway laptop running intel core i3-2310M.

Try pressing other keys; clicking; fooling with trackpad. On my laptop, I sometimes have touch the power button briefly. This procedure doesn't make much sense though. If fast startup is enabled, then you might try disabling it: [h=1]Fast Startup - Turn On or Off in Windows 8.[/h]

I don't have fast startup enabled. I have just downloaded and (re)installed all chipset and related updates. Will see if that makes any difference.
