thank you..i checked it out..only problem with that is..you have to download something called classic shell which is also ok but if you do that it brings back the classic start button and i love the new start menu and all. I just want to get rid of the hot corners.

In your mouse property's is there a switch called Touch Guard or similar to that. My Dell has it and it works pretty good but I don't use the touch pad. I bought this little bluetooth gem for the Inspiron and love it.

Check out Control Panel > Mouse (trackpad or touchpad section). I think you can disable the annoying feature there.

You can't disable the touch gesturing in Windows, it's a Synaptics or similar software driver. You'd need to uninstall that.

How big is your touchpad to begin with? And can you change the touch settings in the software settings in the Mouse settings?

I'd keep those touch gestures as they're rather vital to use Windows 8 "properly." Learn how to use Windows 8 first, realize the Start Screen isn't any different than the start menu, and use the gestures.

Screenshot (86).png

A swipe from the right side inwards on the touchpad opens the Charms bar, from the left inward switches apps, from the top inward opens the app command bar, usually a two finger scroll can be done but depending on the touchpad and the software driver, it would be easier to revert that to using the left and bottom edges for scrolling. You'll need to edit those features in the software, that can be easily done by going to Start, type in mouse, hit Settings and hit Mouse. Then hit the Device Settings tab, or Synaptics or whatever driver you have, and changing the actions. You can enable or disable them if you wish though.
