Hello, does exist a W8 PRO version that you can instal everywhere and everytime you need/want? Thank you.

For a copy of Windows 8 that you can install and activate on any computer you like, so long as it's only installed on one computer at the same time, you would need a "System Builder" copy. There will be a Windows 8 System Builder and Windows 8 Pro System Builder available.

You can purchase it at any retailer (online or brick & mortar).

It strikes me as odd that it's still not available at Microsoft Store Online - Welcome.

I guess that is to avoid creating the impression that Microsoft supports the SB version. (They don't; it's still considered to be generic OEM.)

The official name is the OEM version but under the new license (System Builder) for Windows 8 you can use it for personal use and transfer it to another PC that you own.

Yes, as others have said, system builder--core or Pro. Install under personal use license. Can be installed on one owned machine at a time. The hardware of the machine installed on can be changed in an unlimited number of ways and times. The software is transferrable to one other individual by you provided it is no longer used by you.

They are different at least in the sense that OEM's preinstall OEM MS software on their machines. The software and the machine have to stay together under the pertinent EULA. OEM system builder software can be purchased by you and I from retail outlets. The EULA's of the two also are different. See my prior replies in regard to some of your above issues.

A System Builder license is a little odd. If you install it on a PC and then sell the PC, it functions like an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) license: the seller is supposed to provide all support for it. Also, it wouldn't be transferable to a new PC. If you install an SB license on your own PC, it's transferable to a new PC that you own. (Microsoft won't support the installation, though.) I don't know how Microsoft intends to work this.

Regular OEM installations are the ones from commercial PC makers. They often use a different way of activation than for retail licenses.

Many different PCs? Don't know of any. The general rule is: one license, one PC. There were exceptions like the Windows 7 Family Pack that was an upgrade license that could be used to activate Windows on 3 PCs. Hardly "many".

Regarding System Builder OEM, check this: | System Builder product may not be used: 1 As an upgrade license to an existing underlying Windows operating system 2 To legalize from a non-genuine Windows operating system 3 To license more than five copies of the software (in total) for commercial use| What does exactly mean, "not be used to license more than five copies for commercial use"? Does it mean that you can install it on a max of 5 different PCs at the same time? Not much clear that last point to me. In the retail market the boxed versions are OEM. That is what MS calls them. Some retailers like Amazon calls them Personal Use OEM but they are the same.

Did you mean that some retailers call it just "OEM" instead of "OEM System Builder"?

Did you see my post #16. Retailers should not just call it OEM without appropriate description/clarification at this time. Perhaps some do. Especially did in the past. See the description at Newegg. The Newegg description is pretty convoluted, but it communicates the basic info.
