Hi, I hope this is in the right place.

If I click on Recent Places on the left hand menu of windows explorer (File Explorer) the folder is always empty.

Can anyone please shed some light on this? It's doing my head in.

ETA - When I right click on taskbar and go to properties, both items are already checked under the Jump Lists tab.

Thanks much in advance.

Hiya,

Windows has updated today and the problem seems to have righted itself. Thank you for your help, perhaps others have been having this issue before latest updates too.
Not sure if I should mark as solved yet though seeing as I didn't actually do anything that fixed it.

Hi guys, I'm having the same problem as chellebnz. I noticed that the list of folders in my "recent places" wasn't very relevant and it didn't show the places I recently navigated to.
So, I emptied it (right click on the folder and then "clear recent item list"), however now the folder remains empty no matter where I navigate. I have even removed this folder and restored using the favorites -> "restore favourite links" command, to no avail.

Any idea on how to solve this issue?

Hi kiwifruit.
Funny how we are both from NZ and seem to be having the same issues. I wonder if our location has anything to do with it? Seems far fetched but you never know. Mine seems to have righted itself now though. Sorry I can't be of more help.

thanks chellebnz for you moral support. I was wondering the same thing i.e. if the issue could be location related, seems unlikely but you never know.

ps: happy ANZAC day for tomorrow :)
