This is probably a dumb question, but, having created the pool, how do I put stuff in it? When I check the External Drive (d in my case) it says the file is empty .
Also my computer will not boot up until I detach the external drive. This has only occurred since I created storage places. What have I done wrong ? The last item in the screen shot (Toshiba) is the external drive

i think you need to make sure the computer harddrive is first in the list of drives to boot to in the BIOS ,to fix the computer not booting when the external is plugged in .
and to use the drive for storage you will have to add the files you want to save to it there yourself

Thanks caperjack, sorry for long delay in reply,( had a few other problems).I altered the bios to open hard drive first (CD/DVD was first option) but screen initialisation freezes immediately. Any thoughts please ?
Cheers,
Rob
