Hi there,
Just got a new laptop recently that came with Windows 8 installed. And as with all windows computers, it also came bundled with a whole host of crap third party softwares that I have no interest in (die Norton, die).
Anyway, I've installed most of them, but am finding that my laptop still runs pretty slow - not what I'd expect from a fresh new laptop with 8GB of memory and an AMD A8 quad core processor. When I check the task manager there is generally quite a lot of memory in use from a whole host of processes that are running... somewhere between 1 and 2GB. Although that's only up to 25% of my capacity, it's still rather a lot considering my last laptop only had 2GB of RAM in total, and very rarely seemed to require to use all of it.
So I'm basically blaming the way it has been setup in factory and all the bundled software and unnecessary drivers, etc., and I'd love to do a fresh install of JUST windows 8 and then go and get all the necessary drivers myself.
But obviously I don't have a Windows 8 disk, and obviously the recovery disks I've made will just take my back to a factory install with all the junk.
So seeing as I DO own a Windows 8 Licence, is there no way to download the Windows 8 software without bundled crap, do a completely clean install, and then just activate with my licence? If so where do I download the clean install?
