I know that individual comments will land in the bin. But if thousands of comments come in saying the same thing, they will listen. They may still not do much about it. But once the pocket book hurts, we'll get action.

They already have. Not many are buying this thing. That speaks volumes.

Sales might pick up a bit. There is a limit to how long folk can hang on to what they already have. At some stage they have to get a new machine. Unless they can afford mac, it will have windows on it. The continued price slashing may have some effect as well.

Along the lines of - didn't want to buy a machine with that on it - but my current machine is on it's last legs - the new devices look good - they are also very cheap now - oh well, I will have to put up with win8.

If that happens, it just might encourage MS to keep their current method of pushing their monetisation strategy.

If the pressure keeps up, it is more likely MS will actually respond to the market and use the Blue release to eradicate the deal breakers. That would be the best way for MS.

As I understand it, if you buy a new system, you have the right to ask for Windows 7. Maybe that is an option.

I could use baby tiles on the Start Screen.

More of a tetris like layout with the Start Screen versus the autogroup function, Windows Phone does this one great.

Windows 8 needs more of the rich metro design versus the modern design, it's not terribly metro. I adore the metro design.

Live tiles needs to be better show new unread content.

I think the Start Screen could actually stand for having an image background. I was at my brother and sister-in-law's house the other day on their Xbox, the Dashboard is like Windows 8 except a custom image can be applied...

Apps need to not be like ios or android apps, they need to be FULL FLESHED apps, or applications if we must.

Windows 9 will be MY idea! :D

Yes, sort of. I understand that is only for PRO. It is also often quite a hassle - in some cases not possible .

I don't think Joe public knows about it. Even if they did - it is just too much hassle. They are staying away because win 8 is putting them off.

Sadly, none of the things Cokie has suggested will help that.

MS and the oems can just keep slashing prices to try and shift at least some stock, until MS can actually fix it. Not too long till windows blue.

As I understand it, if you buy a new system, you have the right to ask for Windows 7. Maybe that is an option.

Yeah, not too long until Windows Blue goes ahead and leaves Windows 7 and some hell bent people in the dust...

Have you not yet figured out that w8 and or blue will not be leaving w7 any where.

Simple, no choice in blue will leave them right where they are now with w8. Wondering why the hell no one wants it.

I've quit caring what MS does. I just vote with my pocketbook. I bought Win8 the $39.99 way (installed it on an old machine) because I like to play with it. Things will have to change a great deal before I will spend money on, for example, an OEM/Preinstalled Window machine, and I don't have any plans to build another Windows machine given the way the OS is going, etc. Please understand that I have experienced Win8 to be a workable OS. I just ignore metro almost completely.

I don't like MS's attitudes about/approaches to a variety of things: releasing Win8 without things they at least should know that many, probably most, consumers would want and would be offended not to have; basing Win8 on rinky dink apps and a phone/tablet interface; pushing the MS version of the cloud; pushing the New Office's focus on the cloud; pushing the MS login; not offerring a full install retail version of Win8 (yes, I know the system builder software/personal use license approach apparently is a good alternative, but there are problems here too); apparently specifying, in effect, the way OEM's have to install Win8 with the attendant lack of a satisfactory clean reinstall procedure; etc.

I posted these things and more on the link given. I disobeyed, predictably, and did not identify only the one thing that would make the most difference to me.

I don't want to be forced to get used to something I'm not used to and I can already say it's not any better than what I was already using! I'm going back to Office 2003 and NEVER upgrading to a new Office version EVER! The way Microsoft is going, they might as well be bankrupt!

If they are not careful, they might end up that way. It is tough out there. MS will not collapse overnight - but it is not impossible for them to die a slow death.

MS need to understand why people are not buying win 8 and fix it. Fast

M$ is not listening to its customers on several issues and there are choices for users to change. If M$ continues to be deaf to its users it will go the way of many large companies and that is bankrupt.
