recover from flash drive

Alright I did a back up of my system on flashdrive but now i have to use it...Anybody with some ideas how do i have to have the bios set up? So i can load this up right now my computer says operating system not found

How exactly did you make the backup? Most forms that I'm aware of don't include a bootable installation of Windows.

So are you using Windows backup, and not a program like Acronis or a program specific to your computer's manufacturer?

yes i am just using the backup recovery that came with the computer...other than saving to a disk i saved it to a flashdrive

You set USB as the first boot device in BIOS Setup or you press a Fn key (often F12) to bring up the boot menu when you are booting the computer, and select USB.

You have to put the flash drive in 0one of the USB ports in the computer, not in any kind of external device like a USB port replicator, printer or display.

This all supposes your computer supports booting from USB.

That's assuming the USB flash disk has a bootable copy of Windows, which I doubt. I think it's this one, but to be honest I'm waiting for an expert on this to chime in: Back up and restore: frequently asked questions

It has a window that says Windows cannot find a system image on this computer

Did you click the "Select a System Image" radio button? If not, that's why you are getting the error message. You need to select that then navigate to the image on your flash drive.
