plz help me out..... by solving my problem

my problem is this that... i have deleted my one software application without uninstalling that no if i reinstall this software or trying to delete it through control pannel, then it will show me a ''unable to locate the installation log file -----uninstallation cant be completed''...



plz suggest me some solution... to uninstall/remove it completely from control pannel...

Is there is no any other way to uninstall it...

You have a registry string left over in the registry from the deletion. Look in "HKEY_CURRENT_MACHINE" and "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" under software and look for the software and delete the folder in each area listed above.

WARNING: WORKING IN THE REGISTRY CAN BE FATAL TO YOUR SYSTEM!!! Just be very careful if you decide to take this action.


If you're not comfortable doing that, you can see if the software you deleted has a(n) special uninstaller tool from the software's manufacturer and run that. Or use Ccleaner and run it's registry cleaner...it's free and many users of the software use the registry cleaner with lots of success.

Can you download the program again and reinstall it.
That's worked for me and I think because it reestablishes everything in the registry and the program's folder. Including the uninstall information.

I've done this before as well. You reinstall the application on top of the failed uninstall. And then uninstall the whole thing.

I recently ran into a problem that that method didn't work, and to beat all it was with skype. I had to go into the registry, find all skype folders and delete them, reboot, re-download and reinstall....all fixed.
