Problem when connecting the internet.

This is a strange occurrence for me and has never happened to me before. It happened yesterday when my computer started not responding and lead to an eventually Explorer.exe crash. after much troubleshooting today i found out that if i do a non safe mode boot, i can get the computer to respond by NOT plugging in the internet...However, as soon as the internet cable is plugged in the problem persists leading to another explorer/windows crash taking me to a grey screen with no sort of error message. Has anyone had this issue or found a fix? I'm on safe mode w/ networking right now. I have tried running a full system scan, fixing the registries optimizing the registries, changing my boot options to not allow certain programs, yet with no success.

I'm no expert but this sounds live a virus that is not working properly. Just putting my little 2 sense in. But ya, run MalwareBytes and see if it finds anything. I may be wrong though like I said.

I was thinking the same thing..but Norton 360 ran a full scan and didn't pick anything out, however i will try this method and post the results.

May I say Norton is not going to catch all virus. MalwareBytes would probably catch more then Norton. plus I don't think Norton scan's the registry.

Try uninstalling Norton and use the built-in Windows Defender and see whether it resolves the problem, you could try other free AV programs such as Avast, AVG2013 latter on if you wish.
