I am using three monitors, 2 Asus VE228h, 1 Samsung Syncmaster t220. The Samsung max resolution is 1680x1050 connected with active DisplayPort to DVI, the Asus are both 1920x1080 one connected with HDMI the other with DVI.
The problem is, if I set both Asus to 1920x1080, and I am on Windows 8 Start screen and scroll over the desktop in the preview pane on the left side of the screen, or if I switch back and forth from the Start screen and desktop, the monitors eventually freeze and the system is unresponsive. The mouse cursor still moves but I can't click on anything, right-click doesn't work, etc, and keyboard shortcuts don't work. I have also noticed that when scrolling over the preview pane, before the system actually freezes, sometimes a very small line of pixels will appear across the top of all three monitors.
If I set one of the Asus, usually the HDMI, to 1680x1050, I can leave the other at 1920x1080 and there won't be any freezing. But I would really like to have both at 1920x1080.
I am using Catalyst 13.2 beta 7, but I've also tried the stable release and other betas all with the same problem.
All other drivers are up to date and I have all the latest Windows updates.
This has only been a problem in Win 8, obviously since 7 didn't have the Start screen, and the issue has been there since the first install, just took me a while to figure out what was causing the freezing.
I have also tried reinstalling and refreshing Win 8 and the problem persists.
