I received my Inspiron 17R 5720 on 15th and set about downloading and burning the System Recovery Discs follow some help from the forum.
The first disc took some 45 mins (including ejecting the disc and asking for it to be re-loaded for verification?) and then finally said there was an error and kept the disc in the tray.
Had to initiate another download cycle to get the disc out. Closed the PC down and as it did an error message flashed on the screen.
On re-booting it went to a Boot Mode and after doing a Diagnostics it displayed error 2000-0332 video card memory error. It has stayed in the Boot Mode since.
As a new unit I have requested a new PC which they are going to do but what I would like to know is this a known problem when trying to burn the System Recovery Discs? Are they linked or unfortunate separate problems?
How long should it take to burn a disc, 4 require in all, and are errors common when trying to do this as I will have to go through this process again when I receive the replacement PC which I am now a bit apprehensive about?
Dell UK simply won't send a set of Recovery Discs for free and wan't to charge for them which I am not happy to pay for, particularly after the problems I have experienced.
