Hi Guys,

I have bought three copies of Windows 8 upgrades with serials and media centre but lost all of my data in a recent RAID failure. Until I review and see if I can restore the RAID does anyone know how I can find my serials and where to re-download the software please?

Thanks

Oooh... I'm using Google so I'm used to having them backed up to the cloud...

Maybe you can contact customer support from the windows store (or wherever you got it from) and ask them to resend the emails to you email account?

Hi Steverido and welcome to Eightforums.

Sorry to hear your pc died. Did you succeded in getting the system back online? In that case you can extract the activation key using the tips in this tread ==> Where do I find the Windows 8 product key when it was preinstalled on - Microsoft Community

If you had to reinstall Windows and weren't able to restore your HDD's then there is no way to restore the Windows activation keys. Contacting MS and asking them to resend the key's to you emailaccount is the only option I can think of.

Good luck with it!!!

If you created a folder in Outlook then you may be able to get your keys back. If you have a second computer (or one that you could use) then sign into Outlook (if available) with your email information then the created file should be there. Having two computers with MS Office I also use Outlook on both and whenever I create a file it show on one of the computers it will also show up on the other once new emails are downloaded. . .Good Luck.

I am hoping to rebuild the RAID soon because I am building a new computer and will be able to use one as the backup to restore the files to. Hopefully once I have done this the pst file will be intact and happy days. If not then I will contact Microsoft. They might not let me use the license anyway because I am changing the motherboard although the SSD drive is still the same.

Thanks for your advice so far.

Good luck with it. As far as the license issues. I can't imagine that MS will be that strickt when it comes to the license issues if you tell them your true story. I'm sure they will resend the email and help you with the activation.

And you're welcome. To help people is what we are here for!
