I would like to see the complete removal of HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) as it will decrease boot time to a great extent. Ubuntu 10.4 alpha team has already remove HAL completely from GRUB bootloader.

If I save or download a jpg or png, it would be found in pictures library, not depending where I save it. Downloaded ex, zip, rar etc. automatically to download library, docs to documents, PDF to ebooks, avi and mpg to videos, mp3 to music. etc.

There could then be a new entry in context menu for instance when right clicking Pictures library: "Some files in this library are not saved in Pictures folder. Would you like to move or copy them to C:\Users\Kari\Pictures?"

+1, this is a good idea. And I really do not understand why people do not like libraries. It is such a simple and convenient concept. One has to be really behind the times not to like it.

I don't seem to have that feature. Do I need to enable anything first?

If I remember correctly guest mode was on the drawning board, but not in the final product.

Gotcha. Maybe I'll install a copy of the RC I still have on a virtual machine, and find out.

It's not in the RC. I'll see if I can get a hold of a copy of the Beta, and see if it's there. That Lifehacker article was written in March last year, before the RC was out.
