I did have three ideas, but have forgotten them all. Hmmmm. That is really annoying!

Use less resources(ram/video card memory) and be able to run on slower computers all the while having a new user interface.

Maybe but I'm sure they could make it use even less resources. But if the rumors are true it'll be using even more. And the user interface wasn't exactly new. It's been the same user interface since windows 95. Sure graphically it's evolved but the actual user interface hasn't changed that much. Although I do like that the programs can now be pinned somewhere that's not at the desktop and not that awful quick-launch but that's just me.

    I know:
    • a new kernel.....Im tired of it being based on NT 1.0 and going all the way back to MS-DOS:nerd:
    • Also improved utilization of hardware eg: RAM, if you have over 6 GiB of RAM chances are you will never need the Swap Space.
    • 128 Bit support or for those people who have 2x 64 Bit processors it is theoretically possible to compress across the 2 processors.
    • better software RAID eg: add RAID 6 and hopefully JBOD

In regards to 128 bit support. I highly doubt we will see it in that form. Besides x64 is just not becoming mainstream it will take a few more years before they will even consider it....

And then Windows Eight comes out in 256bit...

What would be the advantage of 128-bit? Seeing as processors today use an address space of 48 or so...

    Mmmm....

I hope it doesnt go too "far" from Windows 7 : 7 has been a real success story, both for MS but more importantly for users.

Some things I'd like to see:

    1. A decent inbuilt text editor (Like UltraEdit)
    2. IE10 inside a sandbox.
