Hi
Don`t know if this is the correct place for this question but how do you rid yourself of the touch screen keyboard symbol in the bottom toolbar have tried several ideas but after restart this still appears, my reason for wanting to rid myself of this is I don`t have a touch screen so is of no use thanks for any ideas
Hi vidanova, and "Welcome to the Eight Forums." . . .
To hide this little baby you first need to right click on the Task Bar and choose Properties. Next locate the "Notification area," then click on 'Customize...; this will bring up the Notification Area Icons screen, at this point find the icon that you want to hide. Choose "Show icon and notifications box and finally choose "Hide." Good Luck. . .
Sorry this does not work either and the touch keyboard icon does not appear in the notification area, one of the problems maybe that this is a tool bar within the taskbar if this makes sense.
Have read articles to Microsoft and they cant or wont solve it.
2) look for any notifications as in screen shot 2 -- if you see a little icon right mouse click on it and chose exit.
3) check in control panel to see if there are any start up options -- people implement touch screen keyboard in different ways.
There might even be Touchpad options in the control panel too
Can you post a screen shot of your taskbar and notification area icons -- if you can't capture the Notification area icons with snipping tool hit PRT SCR button before the icons disappear and save to WORD / Wordpad document (If you don't have WORD use Wordpad - it's included in the system as standard). Do this by Opening Word / Wordpad (if you don't have Office) and hit paste. Zoom the area you want to show and now use the snipping tool to capture that part of the image you want to show -- like I did with the small notification area in my 2nd screen shot.
